Week 6 - Forgiveness is Power
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32 NKJV
Do you know that you have supernatural power inside of you to forgive?
The supernatural power that resurrected Jesus after dying for your sins on the cross is now yours. You received Jesus in your heart. You gained the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) into your body, mind and soul. You can use the power of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit that resides in you for great works.
The greatest gift that God gave us was forgiveness, forgiveness of our sins. Jesus crucified and rising again is supernatural, it is beyond the ability of the earth and mankind. You have the capability to use this power that is beyond what is natural on earth among men and women.
Forgiveness from heaven does not recognize human traits and emotions. This power from God overlooks the flesh and how it feels. Jesus on the cross nearing death called out to his Father saying, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." Do you think if Jesus was acting on his flesh and human emotions would even consider forgiving these people that tortured him beyond human recognition? No. Of course not. His forgiveness was of heaven and absolutely supernatural.
You have supernatural (beyond our earthly mind, body and soul) power to forgive despite any hurt, betrayal, or unfairness you have experienced. This is not natural to the earthly body. It is beyond human understanding. This is the Spiritual world, the unseen world as mentioned in Hebrews 1:1 NIV.
God instructs you to forgive just as he forgave us through the sacrifice of his Son. Focus on all that Jesus surrendered to forgive you. We will honor his suffering for us by obeying God the Father to forgive others.
So forgive.
Just say the words, "I forgive."
Now say, "I forgive in the name of Jesus and his supernatural power within me."
Dismiss your emotions or thoughts that linger on earthly matters. You are in the Spiritual world now acting on the power asserted to you by heaven, God your Father, Jesus your Savior and the Holy Spirit your Counselor.
You have now accepted and enforced the supernatural power within you.
