I am able. - God

3 minute read

I am able to do far beyond all that you ask or imagine.

Come to me with positive expectations, knowing that there is no limit to what I can accomplish.

- Jesus Calling

I love reading my Jesus Calling devotions. I hear Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit in Sarah Young's words. However, today God pointed out to me that I am lacking something crucial from His words. It is something that I have put to the side a bit, maybe I forget as well. I have no good excuse considering I have shared God's thoughts on it many times in my own writing, with God as the author.

He said, "Meditation is missing."

Then He walked me down an old path of breaking down words from this quote (from Jesus Calling) so that I can go deeper in my thoughts and my spirit. You see, the first Bible study God used my hands to write was a teaching on how to take just a few words and meditate on them throughout the day. Since that time, most of the Bible Studies and devotionals God gives me to write have a simple meditation activity or lesson.

Just hearing Him say "Meditation is missing" was impactful to me. I did not need further explanation. I did not require any reasoning. I know that meditation is of huge benefit to my thought life. So today we will start with very easy meditation.

Meditation is nothing more than pondering or careful thinking about something. It does not require sitting with crossed legs with eyes shut in deep thought. It does not require a set amount of time. Meditation does not necessarily even need quiet. It can be done at any time or place. It is only thoughts, so no one can hear you. It is so easy and powerful!

Today we start with the quote:

I am able to do far beyond all that you ask or imagine.

Come to me with positive expectations, knowing that there is no limit to what I can accomplish.

- Jesus Calling January

These words originate from Ephesians 3:20.

Ephesians 3:20 AMP

Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super abundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.

MEDITATION:

I (God, your God, your Creator, your caregiver, your provision, your undying love, your physician, your healer, your pleasure, your comfort, your peace, your everything)

am able (have all the power necessary, all the resources, skills, knowledge, superior effectiveness and mighty capability).

Read this several times.

Then meditate on these few words:

I am able. - God

(That's it for now. Think about who your God is to you. Who is your God? Consider all his characteristics. Then consider how very able He is to do anything He wants.)

Next we will focus our thoughts on how much more that He will do for us than we ask.

Wow.

It may sound simple, but watch out! Something big is going to happen to you. You are on the road to changing your thought life. I could sure use a dose of that.

Love you all,

Truly
